Diogegene

Ho creato un account Instagram per pubblicare una serie di vignette ispirate a Diogene, filosofo cinico del V secolo (vedi qui). Come lui, il mio personaggio vive in una botte e da li assiste da spettatore alla vita (pubblica) altrui.

Il privato non gli compete, proprio in quanto privato; il pubblico gli interessa, per le ricadute che ha sul privato: per questo il suo cruccio principale è connesso alla politica, in quanto arte del vivere insieme, ed al rapporto tra propaganda ed educazione, in quanto strumenti della politica - il primo abusato, il secondo dimenticato.

I created an Instagram account to publish a series of cartoons inspired by Diogenes, cynical philosopher of the fifth century. (see here). Like him, my character lives in a barrel and assists as a spectator from there to the (public) life of others.

He doesn't care about private affairs, precisely because they are private; he cares about the public sphere for its impact on private life: his main concern is about politics, the art of living together, and the relationship between propaganda and education, as political instruments - the first abused, the second forgotten.
